GM and Chrysler Will Pay Bonuses to White-Collar Workers

Less than two years after they exited bankruptcy, Chrysler Group and General Motors (GM) will soon distribute bonus payments to salaried employees in recognition of their efforts to help revive the once-flagging Detroit automakers.

About 26,000 white-collar workers at General Motors will see performance bonuses of 4% to 16% of their base salaries, the company said late Thursday, but a small group could see payments that are equal to as much as 50%....more

Chrysler To Begin Selling Fiat Subcompact In January


DETROIT (Dow Jones)--Chrysler Group LLC plans to introduce the Fiat 500 subcompact in the U.S. market in January and hopes to sell 50,000 of them in 2011, three people briefed on the auto maker's plans said.

The U.S. version of the Fiat 500 will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and will be positioned as a direct competitor to BMW's (BMW.XE) Mini, according to these people, who did not want to be identified since the briefing is not public. Chrysler also plans to introduce an electric version of the Fiat 500 in 2012, they said....More
